Join us for this detoxifying weekend of asanas, pranayama, meditation and kriyas for health and well-being.
In this innovative weekend mini-retreat, Swami Saradananda offers a variety of ways to detox your life. She will introduce you to a wide range of cleansing practices, most of which you can do at home: from breath-work and self-massage to space clearing and jala neti (nasal cleansing). Removing stuck energy and toxic material can have far-reaching physical benefits, as well as life-changing mental, emotional and spiritual advantages. You will receive comprehensive guidance on how to achieve this level of cleansing through a variety of yoga cleansing exercises and holistic techniques, breathing techniques (pranayama), meditations, mudras, mantras, and more…
As summer becomes autumn is one of the best time to practice
To perfect the body and mind, yoga texts, such as the Gheranda Samhita and Hatha Yoga Pradipika recommend kriyas (yoga cleansing techniques) to bring purification and asanas to bring strength; mudras for steadiness and pratyahara (withdrawal of the senses) to bring calmness. From pranayama, lightness arises and with meditation, you begin to understand your true Self.
Swami Saradananda is an internationally-renowned yoga and meditation teacher and mentor who motivates you to want to practise. Her classes are practical as well as theoretical in nature. They are always enlightening and inspiring! She has authored the books "Yoga Mind and Body", "Relax and Unwind with Yoga", "Chakra Meditation", "The Essential Guide to Chakras", "The Power of Breath", "Mudras for Modern Life" and "The Cleansing Power of Yoga".
In addition to teaching and writing, Swami Saradananda has spent extensive time doing personal practice in the Himalayas. She is currently pursuing an MA degree in ‘Traditions of Yoga and Meditation’ at SOAS (School of Oriental and African Studies), University of London – and frequently takes groups on pilgrimages to India.
